Jay’s Eagle Project was constructing an irrigation system at Sunrise United Methodist Church (SUMC) . It involved 850 man hours and nearly $1,000 in donations. SUMC is the Chartering Organization for Troop 361.
Jay graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School International Baccalaureate Program with high honors in 2007. He has nearly perfect SAT and ACT scores. Jay was varsity swim team captain, and a member of the King Aquatics Club. He was also a member of TJ’s Math Team, the National Honor Society, and was involved in the development and implementation of the Wonderwood Project, a drug and alcohol prevention program aimed at middle school students.
Jay received both Congressional and Presidential nominations to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where he is now a sophomore and is majoring in Systems Engineering with emphasis in Robotics.
In addition to the U.S. Naval Academy, Jay was also offered 4 year full-ride scholarships plus some monetary incentives from the following institutions:

- University of Washington, School of Engineering
